 | Screening onto the window,
Through open curtains it bled,
My naked toes tingled,
As the warmth engulfed the bed.
An illuminated glow surrounded,
As I woke in sleepless tranced state,
A familiar sensation beckoned,
Like an old friend at the end of the gate.
Suspended in the moment,
Of a day that just began,
So fragile in the knowing,
Of the seconds that couldn't be held on.
My mind skipped back to the moment,
As the light seeped through the skin,
Through the transparency of blackness,
My eyes wrinkled open with a grin.
Taunted now by all the senses,
None to be out done, so in haste,
The dew-dripped pane slid open,
As my nostrils absorbed the taste.
I looked upon the sunrise,
A fiery, orangey tone,
An eternity of horizons,
To say that we are not alone.
