 | *I wrote this poem, dedicated it to the one I love so that maybe, just maybe it would help him understand who I am today. Although most of it isn’t exactly true for me, but for him these words are reality. I love you bud.
Have you ever lived my life?
Or spent a moment in my shoes?
If not, can you tell me why,
You judge me as you do?
Have you ever woken in morning,
Wondering if this is your last day on earth?
Have you ever left your house,
Unsure if you’d return?
Have you ever seen your friend,
Get shot outside her favorite store?
Have you ever had a friend die,
From drugs he’d never used before?
Have you ever seen your mother get beat,
From your father messed on booze?
Has your family ever split,
Forcing you to choose?
Have you ever sat beneath the stars,
Hoping god would hear?
Have you seen your friend drive away,
With one too many beers?
Have you ever wanted someone,
So they could hold you tight?
Have you ever covered guilt,
By making things right?
Have you ever considered suicide,
To be the only way?
Have you tried to hide yourself,
Behind the things you say?
Have you ever wanted to protect,
Your friends and everyone insight?
Have you ever felt so much pain,
That you couldn’t sleep at night?
Have you ever lived my life?
Or spent a moment in my shoes?
If not, can you tell me why,
You judge me as you do? | |
