Glass

I try so hard for you to see me


      To be the one on your mind


That when I look in the mirror


      I’m not the person I find


 


I see a sad and lonely mess


      With only tears in her eyes


They fall down her cheeks


      While inside her soul dies


 


So sad you couldn’t see


      What you were doing to that girl


She truly loved you for you


      She would have given you the world


 


While her hope still hasn’t died


      Her heart and spirit has


You left an empty shell of what was


      Be careful, it’s as fragile as glass
