It was a long weekend to close the summer

We never want it to end, what a bummer

So we spent our time with family and friends

No ill feelings we all loved, laughed made amends

The weekend was nice, the company was sweet

Gathered 2 of the 3 and headed for the street

We played the music that we loved to hear

So glad that we were all so close and near

Life so precious, loving, caring full of trust

How could someone so evil do this to us

With just a blink and a quick stare

Our loving mother was no longer there

The evil that caused this doesn’t deserve love

They will never like our mother see up above

I know she is now safe with God up there

A mother and a friend, we will always care

Next time you have a few and say its ok, ill be alright

Just remember so did the evil person that night

All alone and for no reason that’s considered right

I no longer sleep, till I pray for my mother at night
