Family Values

When you speak of family values
Do you practice what you preach?
Do you leave any room for error?
Do you study what you teach?

If you’re a true believer
Don’t forget the golden rule
You must be a prime example
You must never loose your cool

You’ll be faced with situations
In which you don’t understand
But if your family is in trouble
You must lend a helping hand

No matter what the cost
No matter how you feel
Don’t turn your back on family
If your values are for real

Don’t give ultimatums
Don’t restrict them from your home
Don’t make them feel unwanted…
…Insecure and all alone.

For if these rules are broken
You will cause them to believe
That the life you said to live
Is now… a life they want to leave.
