Don't Forget Darling

quietly now,
all these lies, to keep your secret.
seems to me that time is up,
but you insist that you must keep it.

keep it locked up,
and hidden away.
you keep it sheltered,
from all light of day.

and there in the dark,
where you feel you belong -
may my angels find you
and sing you their song.

may they gather close to you,
touch your face with their hands.
may they free you from chains,
cast by emotions and demands.

but when those beautiful eyes open
and finally - can you see,
in your gazing of wonders around you,
would you remember to watch out for me?
