Freudian slip n.
A verbal mistake that is thought to reveal an unconscious belief, thought, or emotion.
She said "I love you."
I realize that it was a slip and given her ability to generally maintain a reserved composure while in verbal conversations with me, I know that she meant it. I know this because two people can not have loved each other as much as we did and then have nearly a quarter century of time between us and be able to share our thoughts like we have as if no time has passed.
I told her I heard her say "I Love You" and she said she knew I did. I told her that I knew she loved me. I know this because of the words we use with each other and the the amount of time we spend with each other and how much we look forward to each opportunity we have to spend any time together. I know I love her. I love who she was. I love who she is. I love who she will always be, a happy, humorous, fun loving, compassionate, caring, sensitive, sensible, respectable, smart, passionate woman that wants to be loved and appreciated. I want to be that person until the end of time, beyond eternity.
She says "I Love you" without saying it every time we talk. I'll have to admit I felt a feeling I have not felt in years when I heard her say it and I look forward to the next time I get the chance to hear her slip again. I miss her ever moment of every day since we have first had the chance to talk. I think the thoughts of I love you with every syllable I speak to her.
Today I was able to talk to her about the regular irritations that she experiences and I hope that I was able to help relieve some of her stress. As I said I want her struggles to be mine, forever.
I love you, I love you, I love you, I love you. I can hear it when she speaks, I know she believes it when I say it.
