 | Dear Dad,
So many images come to my mind when I speak or hear your name.
Since you were called home, without you in my life, things have NEVER been the same.
The nights have all been long, many without any sleep.
They say time heals all wounds, but this one cut too deep.
Every place I go, everything I do, takes me back to times that I spent with you.
I remember every funny joke you told, no matter how often, they never got old!
I long to hear your voice, see your face, hear your laugh.
Until then I'll hold close to me our memories and photographs.
Not a day goes by I don't think of you, about a hundred times a day!
Most leave me in tears for which I am sorry, 'cuz I know you wouldn't want it that way.
I miss our laughing together and watching Court TV,
I miss every special thing we had just between you and me.
I could always depend on and look up to you;
No matter the problem, you turned my gray skies blue.
If I could turn back time and once more hear your voice;
I'd tell you out of all the dads, you'd still be my first choice!
I'll love you forever, no one will ever take your place;
years can come and go, but your memory will never erase.
Though we didn't get to do all the things we planned together,
I hope you can see your grandkids and enjoy them all forever!
The words you last said to me still echo through my head;
"Take care of your buddies" is exactly what you said.
That's what I've been doing and will continue to each day.
In time I hope you'll come for me, take my hand and show me the way.
I ask the Lord Jesus as he listens from above,
