I use to work in the IT industry and travelled a fair bit around the south of England, on many occasions staying in hotels on my own, and I can tell you its not a nice feeling going into the restaurant for dinner on your own and staring into a pint glass whilst most people seemed to travel in groups and enjoy each others company around the bar.
