Curious Hearts

Two creatures a whole world apart;
met amongst the gardens of night.
Their love grew under moonlight,
but ‘twas ill-fated from the start.
Despite the path their fates drew
they persisted meeting in shadow.
Their love opened a new window;
to a golden dream come true.
But too different in their character,
two separate songs began to sing.
They began arguing and bickering,
then misunderstanding one another.
Tragic - as they broke apart and fled;
To hide and conceal open wounds.
Nostalgia ran deep for many moons
when they needed to heal instead.
Was it simply just not meant to be
or naïve hearts; paying the price?
If a moral or any piece of advice;
‘tis to be cautious with curiosity.
