If only love poems are that easy to write
I would have made a thousand for you
But I'm just an ordinary guy who's in love
Wishing you would feel the same way too
A line of love takes time (for me) to write (and decide)
Letters and words break sweat just to rhyme
Thinking of nothing 'cept how to show what I feel
Hoping you'd see it in time that it's real.
I never thought that words can be so difficult
This hard to make it sound like the last line.
To check whether I did it just about right
Or the words I'd written may take you affright.
Wondering if those broken stanzas made you smile or frown
Hate me more for what I did or made your heart turn around.
Waiting for the day that I'd hear from you, a reply
Telling me you loved it, "Would you like to come by?"
