Bonny Wee Thing.

Bonny wee thing, cannie wee thing, (gentle)
Lovely wee thing, wert thou mine,
I wad wear thee in my bosom,
Lest my jewel it should tine. (lose)

Wishfully I look and languish,
In that bonny face o' thine,
And my heart it stounds wi' anguish (aches)
Lest my wee thing be na mine.

Wit and Grace and Love and Beauty
In ae constellation shine! (one)
To adore thee is my duty,
Goddess o' this soul o' mine!

Written by Robert Burns.

As this was taken directly from a volume of Burns' work perhaps you would like to expand on that remark!?

You could've made this writing look as if it were your own work, but you gave credit where credit is due. I admire that.

Hi Ujjwal,

This poem was written by our national bard, Robert Burns, who was a prolific writer of both poetry and songs. So I can't claim credit for this work. This poem has a very moving melody when done as a song. The Scots also find some of his works difficult to understand as it was written in the old tongue.

Cheers.

John.
