I thought we were friends, in fact, you told me so yourself.

But I guess that was just a ploy, so I’d think we had something special.

I thought you knew me for who I was, not for what I seemed.
You said that you understood me.
But I guess that was just a ploy, so I’d think we were connected.

I thought you wanted me for who I was, not for what I looked like.
You said I was smart and funny.
But I guess that was just a ploy, so I’d think you really cared.

So here’s to you, the best friend I thought I had.
