 | You were so bored and lost your drive, To keep your failing marriage alive, Often driving into town to meet your "beau", Who spoils you with an affectionate show.
For years you strived to make ends meet, And never dreamed of how to cheat, Until at last your love wore out, And your thoughts on marriage caused some doubt.
Alone most nights, your spouse away, Was he at work or gone astray? The kids in bed, the house was quiet, Your only interest was keeping a diet.
Night school curriculum proved a bore, Only adding another chore. So with trepidation you wore a mini- skirt, Your whole intention to entice and flirt.
Without much effort you spied your guy, Attentive, well mannered with an honest eye. You talked and laughed over a drink or two, The mutual attraction steadily grew.
Over many months you secretly met, When he was late you tended to fret. Out in the open was your illicit affair, Oblivious of neighbours who would stop and stare.
After a quick divorce you decided to wed, At the back of your mind a constant dread. Would this marriage be a short term affair, After friends and family told you to beware.
