A Longing

Sometimes some serene spectacles,

Make me mad when wondering,

Think I on flavorous sweetness,

Experienced I soaring through spheres,

The higher, the bluer and more silent,

Than our earth and its polluted zones.

Flown was I straight and supine,

Travelled upwards, headlong, viewing,

Beneath the galaxy ladder like,

With moderate slow slanting rise,

Myriad stars shone and shone bright,

As at mid day a highway is enlightened,

Like dots or silvery scattered coins,

Stretched far above and down unendingly.

At one moment when I stopped,

To behold behind to the distances,

Immense covered of the spaces,

Bluish but brightened washed,

At the far end I found a globe,

Smaller than the sun at sunset,

With milky light, and greenish core,

Still, with no flickering flashes,

Enchanted mind, captivated my heart,

Now I long for to have a glimpse,

Just once again if possible,

In exchange of property and life,

And all its sensuous belongings.
