Mother Taught Her Well

He dances to and fro, kicking up a storm
Timid, she stands alone, watching, waiting
He looks deep into her eyes, then roars aloud
She doesn’t flinch one bit, mother taught her well
He looks around, confused he roars aggressively louder
She remains silent, not a flinch, not a twitch
He slowly edges forward, grunting with every second step
She remains still, frozen like a stone statue
He stops right in front of her, watching carefully, cautiously
She remains watching and waiting, a lifeless gaze
Impatient, he roars continuously, yet she shalt not flinch
He paces left and right, her eyes follow him
Enough is enough, he walks away leaving her
He looks back every 5 steps, his ego dying inside
With his pride broken, he sulks alone among the shadows
In she comes, standing still at the entrance
He watches for a moment, then turns to the wall
She edges forward softly and as silent as a ghost
She kisses him on the cheek and he turns to her
Desperation in his eyes, comp*ssion in hers
They stare for an eternity, eyes deep in one another
She sits down next to him, her place beside his
He looks to the stars as the sky suddenly makes sense
He's no longer a man, for he is complete
