Darkest night

Verse 1
It’s a moonless night.
Clouds are rolling in.
Something evil is coming.
You can smell it in the wind.
Something evil is coming.
And it’s not just the weather.
Get home to your families.
Then huddle yourselves together.

Chorus
[There’s an evil out there.]
[On this darkest night.]
[It’s as if the shadows.]
[Suddenly come to life.]
[Gather up your loved ones.]
[Hold on to them tight.]
[Don’t find yourself all alone.]
[On this darkest night.]

Verse 2
As the fog begins rising.
It seems to boil along the ground.
There’s an eerie silence.
All over the town.
In not one window.
Can a light be found.
Every one is hiding.
On this darkest night.

[Chorus]

Verse 3
As the dogs start howling.
There’s a thunder clap.
You can hear distant wailing.
Like some animal in a trap.
Old women are praying.
All the men are filled with fright.
The children are scared and crying.
On this darkest night.

[Chorus]

Verse 4
When the morning come.
There is no evil to be found.
Only superstitions and ignorance.
From the people of this town.
It’s been this way for centuries.
Thou they try with all their might.
To over come their beliefs and fears.
On these darkest nights.
