My Daddy

World Trade Tower

It's time for school
as her momma calls
The small little girl
comes down the hall

Emotions rage and she seems upset
a feeling of desperation a feeling of guilt

Today is the day she has been waiting for
but a day for her mom she wants to ignore

She only 5
But much smarter than that
She cant wait to share her story about a man
She harldy knows anything about

Her daddy you see
Was in the Trade Tower
He never held her or touched her
Imagination was all he had

He waited what seemed to be forever
Until he got to hold his little girl
He wanted to kiss her and hold her
protect her from the world

His wishes he never got
But he knows she is okay
Her momma is looking out for her and carries her through the day

But on this day, right before school
the little girl tells her momma
"I need my daddy" and "Don't know what to do"

If they ask me about the picture what do I say
Do I tell them the entire story and he how he went away

Do I tell them he loved me more than anyone ever could
How do I make them understand my daddy was so very good

Momma, I dont want their pitty only for them to listen
of the story of my father that goes along with this picture.
