 | Here I am
A painted desert
Warm with the colours of your palette
And I can see you on the horizon
My storm.
Every day I lose more of myself to you
With every glance
You drain my life into your eyes
And fill me with something better
Longer than life, knowing no death
A glimpse of heaven
I watch you on the horizon, my storm
Always so far away
I get lost in the depth of your colours
And the promise of the rain that I will never know.
The light dances across you, through you
And I am in constant awe.
Without warning - skyrocketing blue and electric purple
Reality strikes, piercing the deepest sky
Flashing cold light on insignificant surface details
Illuminating this blind world, which sees nothing beneath the skin
I turn my back knowing no one will ever know
The depth of my sight, reaches of my mind
Into the farthest corners of
The untraveled paths of who you are...
If you would free yourself to let me travel them
But you're always a storm on the horizon
And I, your painted desert
You have created the colours you see in my sky
The ones that ask you
To let me feel your heart beating...
The soft thunder in your chest,
To see the rain on your skin,
Feel the lightning in your fingertips
With the rhythm of our breath in sync
Creating the wind that traces our form
The wind that carries our warmth from skin to spirit
So I can feel your life from my surface to my soul...
Oh, it's just a dream
Just heaven on the horizon
And you let me watch you, flash your colours,
With hopes of the rain
That fuels my spirit
You are the calm, storm, and peace in my life,
Peace to my war
Summer rain to my desert fire.
Please know that this is something purer
That there is not a trace of lust in my glance
That your form, your body is not an object but
A masterpiece straight from the hands of God
I can feel his plan in your fingertips
And there's a glimpse of heaven
He left in your eyes
Perhaps you will always be a storm in the distance
And I, you're painted desert
But as long as you are on the horizon
You will always be on my mind.
