My emotions in me were stirring
I felt that something was wrong
I couldn’t place my finger on it
But what I was feeling was strong
I awoke to the telephone ringing
And when I answered and said hello
The voice at other end sounded nervous
And said it was time for me to go
I knew my duty was upon me
And so I packed my bags
250 miles I drove
Back to place I used to call home
I entered the room and saw her
This woman I called mom
And as my tears started flowing
I knew it wouldn’t be long
She was ready to make her journey
To that wonderful place
To live in the sky with Jesus
And meet her makers face
I was feeling very selfish
And didn’t want her to go
She said I’m sorry this is taking so long
That made my heart ache so
Three weeks I was there a caring
For my mothers needs
Watching her slowly dieing
And feeling sorry for me
The next morning I went to the garden
Where I knelt to pray
I asked God to forgive me
For my selfish ways
Please God don’t make her suffer
In this world anymore
I begged for his mercy on her
And asked him to take her to heavens door
I went back in the house to see her
And told my father it was time
We gathered the family around her
As Jesus gave her wings to fly.
