 | So I reflected on a song,
A song small,
Yet strange enough to teaseA melody not uncommon,
Yet, Something in the heart said….yes,
So I listened, and listened
Until the stars started to hum…
And the winds fared a familiar whisper.
I had almost forgotten,
The heart had depth,
So much so, that as the moon danced,
And the wind sang…
I wondered of the many dazed hearts…
Staring at the sky,
hoping, the wind to whisper another song,
The one it did…the one it used to,
When dreams seemed…,
Just a heartbeat away.
Then as restless tides hush,
Against sleeping sands,
My night’s journey along its shimmering shores,
I know…will end soon.
As the enchanted song slowly fades …
Once blown by nether winds…
It softens, by a message of dawn..
I was awakened by it…
And I followed it,
A song,
A song small …
Like one almost forgotten…
Before my heart fell,
And its depth hid from me.
So now I’m not alone…
I see others; shrouded, hidden,
In unanswered questions,
Remaining silhouetted.
By love, hearts have touched the sky,
By its storms, they have been broken,
Their pains have shattered many silent morns,
And their dreams…their dreams, were never spoken.
…Becoming a remnant,
Of a time lost…like a clock without hands,
They choose…
not to remember.
How could these sorrows travailed?
How could this, shadowlands be?
They no longer ask…such questions,
Instead they sing,
From a heart of dreams.
From a heart of much, they sing,
From desires voice, they hold,
Some may try tomorrow,
…some may never, be so bold,
Yet, nothing can restrain,
There’s too much,
Too much inside,
A heart, to bloom a thousand roses,
…dreams, to light a million stars…
And so I heard,
In the depth of sleep,…a voice,
A voice so small…
The wind struggled to keep it,
So I followed,
And found no authors call…
The wind danced with it again…
One of those voices,
Sweet and simple, …small,
Yet strange enough to tease…
Then,
I remembered, a time…
Then, I remembered, a dream,
A dream enchanted …
An enchanted dream,
Like one almost forgotten…
Before my heart fell,
And its depth hid from me…
So I will…remember,
This time, I will, find…
my voice…
One I had lost,
Like a dance on the sky,
As the wind whispered its song.
A song I knew…
When dreams were close,
And the stars,
Just a heartbeat away.
How could these sorrows travailed?
How could this, shadowlands be?
A question no longer ventured ,
A heart…that will always see.
…and in quiet moments,
I reflect…on that song,
A song so sweet,
That song so small…
A song so delicate
That was strange enough
to tease…
