Rain Before Sunshine

A friend just slapped me awake
She knew that was all that it takes
I never listened to her words nor mine
She told me that there will always be rain before sunshine
But I never believe her because all I saw was evil in my life
When I chose the easy way out she was there to take away the knife
She has been there to tell me that things will be alright
She's been there to get me through the tough days and nights
I wish I could listen to her wise words
Because I know those words would lead me out of this
Out of this dark tunnel and back to happiness
She lend me her shoulder and hands that day
She tried to mend my broken heart and chase my fears away
She only hope to see a real smile on me once again
I know she would do anything to ease my pain
She knew that I had my own pair of wings
I just need to learn to listen to her words as she sings
Maybe her words will teach me to fly again one day
Just got to close my eyes and believe in what she's got to say
Even though I know my heart she can't mend
But she'll be there with me till the very end
