Forgotten

We were friends once.
It seems so long ago
We fought all the time,
But the fights never lasted.
We were friends till the end of grade school
Then you went one way and I another.
Now you're here at this school,
But you've forgotten me.
I tried to say hello once,
But you just walked away.
Three years was all it took
To take it all away.
We promised it'd never end,
We promised it'd last forever.
Why did you forget me?
I still remeber you and our promise
Our promise to be friends forever
I guess forever doesn't last
As long as we all thought.
Why don't you remember,
We were friends once
Though it seems so long ago.
