I must have forgotten
Who you really were
Because somewhere along the line
I let my heart go
I put down all my fears
And put your safety first
Somewhere along the line
I forgot who you were
I fell in love before sixteen
Tears of pain hold great memory

But what stands out the most from loving you
Is how I forgot
The real you
I never asked you to change
You did it all on your own
You became this guy
Who actually cared that I was there
Everyday at your side
The I don't care attitude went away

All that was left was your
Determination to stay apart of my life
Are at least I thought
Becuse now you're back
The way you were
When I saw you as
Just someone that could hurt
The person I first saw that did'nt care

That could break my heart without a single care is back
Are maybe it was
I just forgot
That you were the guy
Who I alawys thought
Would hurt me and leave
Just like everyone said
The only difference is
I forgot

Along the way of this relationship I forgot
That you were never
Meant for commitment
So now I lost both
A friend and first love someone I could trust
And my only thought
Of how I got here
Is how I forgot
That you should be feared

Because one day when I least expect
You would walk away
Without any regrets
About leaving me behind
Yet hurting me still
