Innocence

I'm so messed up
I'm so scared
Innocence is golden,
they say
but maybe they're wrong.
Sacred maybe,
until
the innocent finds out
the reality.
And finds their whole world
was a lie.
I don't understand
why they hide the truth
from me,
their daughter...
I find my life was a lie
I never knew that everyone
was waiting on cue,
to finally say
Your world was a lie.

Innocence is just an excuse
For lying about
the overwhelming truth,
That will be told...
Or regretfully dscovered,
Like mine.
