You said something to me
Lifted me as high like a redwood tree
What you said kissed me;
Lips tender and sweetYou shared an emotion
A gift so very dear;
For my lonely ears to hear

How could you choose those words?
The perfect line at the perfect time
How did you know my friend?
This much wanted sentence to send

I was standing when you said it
What more… I knew you meant it
There where I stood;
Knees buckled; head became light

I had to sit, pause… Collect
I couldn’t believe what you just said
I’ve been thinking about it all day
It ran like comfort in head

I’ve heard it before
But these words have never torn
The fabric that’s me
But, you did;
That which I only lived in a dream

Things are starting to blur
Thoughts once only in my slumber
Here now in vivid color

You moved me
You kissed me
When you said you missed me.
