4th of July, Independence Day in the USA

Independence Day is considered to be a birthday of the USA as a free and independent country. The majority of Americans call this holiday simply by its date - “4th of July”. The holiday reminds that on July 4, 1776 the Declaration of Independence was signed. At that time citizens of 13 British colonies, located along the Eastern coast of today’s US territory, waged the war against the English King and Parliament, for they thought the latter treated them unfairly.
The war launched in 1775. During the military operations colonists understood that struggled not simply for better education, but for freedom of the English dominion. It was clearly formulated in the declaration of Independence, signed by the colonies’ leaders. For the first time colonies were named as the USA in the official document.
