Should I change?

So, this on again off again love relationship has kept my head spinning. I saw him across the room, he caught my eye, we hit it off and found out we had a lot in common! I was hooked on him from then on. Well, he lived (literally) 100 miles away, and my contacts down there found it necessary to keep me posted on his every move. He's obsessed with me, he's unsure, he likes me again… But I never cared, because I always liked him… Well, turns out, family's up and moving to his hometown… Ok, now I care about his opinion on me. So, my friend (who is also his friend) calls me and slowly starts explaining that he doesn't like, because I’m different.

I’ve always been proud of being such an individual. I don't care what people think (well, to some extent). I’ll dress preppy, act peppy, wear dresses, speak my mind, watch and openly discuss the kind of movies and books I like, and he doesn't like me for it? I’d think he should like me for me… But I’m hooked. I tried shrugging it off, and saying he was just a guy… But we first met because we had so much in common! And now I’m too different… It makes me want to cry.

Be yourself. Someday someone even better will like you for who you truly are. And like the person above said, it's his loss. It seems hard, but get over it.

Love is a compromise. i'm sure you expect something from him and vice versa. Change is the only constant thing in this world. You can change the way you look , the books you read, your favorite color but trust me you will still be you as long as you know the limitations of things you will do for that person and as long as you have values that you lived by....Ifyou let him go yes!it will be his lost and yours too. The only difference is that he will not be hunted by the "what ifs"...Maybe its time for a total make over!
