To have somebody

What a joy to have someone
someone to love
someone to hold
someone to hugwhen it is cold

someone who cares
and understands
when you say you can’t
they say you can

someone who wants you
and who needs you
someone you can
always come home to

a shoulder to lean on
a hand to hold
someone you’ll have
when you grow old

I wish I had someone
but I cannot deny
that I wont find him
before this life passes me by.
