He made a choice

May 26, 2006
Won't be a day
Some soon forget
One young man
Of 29 years
Got drunk
While drinking some beer

He made a choice
To get back in his car
But he didn’t make it
Very far

As he journeyed down the road
He crossed the median
While he lost control

He hit an oncoming car
With three unsuspecting souls
A father, a mother and their four year old

They were traveling
Down the road
Heading for their weekend
Of fun, they had hoped

With the choices
That he made
All four people
Lost their life that day

Yesterday they lived
And now they’re gone
A fate they didn’t know
When they arose

Now we see as we drive by
Four wooden crosses
Where they did lie
