Waiting for a good friend

If you had a friend who was in trouble
would you get there on the double
or would you sit and wait it out
without the slightest fear or doubt?Would you cause a friend pain
if you had something left to gain
would you start to hate until it's to late?

Good friends are hard to find...
So that’s what they say
but most good friends don't always stay
losing a friend is like losing a life
being knocked down by the biggest strife

Then why go through the trouble finding one
when you know it'll turn out with no fun
I guess having someone there for you
means they must need you too

Until I find a good friend who likes me for me
I'll just sit on the corner alone but free.
