Simple Doubts

Does any of it matter
Will it be remembered
Does what we say and do
Affect us in the future
Or are we all victims of fate
Driven only by a hidden lie
Do we actually have any say in what we do
Or do we only do as we are told
Are we really living our life
Or are we simply just waiting for death
I can not help but think these things
And have the simple doubts
When everything I've come to love and know
Have all just left me alone
