I prayed that God would keep you safe
That He would give you
Everything you wanted
At night I thought about you
I wonder what my life would be like
If one day God brought you to heaven,
And the last time we talked, we fought
And I would never get to tell you
How much I loved you
How much I needed you
It wouldn’t be the same
If I never got to tell you.
But these tears that I cried at night for you
Show that I am getting used to living my life with out you.
When I prayed that God would give you everything you wanted,
I didn’t know that this was what your heart desired.
But now every night when I pray for you
I thank God that you got what you have always wanted.
To be truthful I still haven’t gotten over the fact that I’m not with you
But maybe I never was
Maybe it was never what I wished it would be.
Though that doesn’t change what’s in my heart,
That little place that I have left for you.
I know it’s not enough to change your mind
Of how you feel about me.
I just wanted you to know
How I felt
If one day
God chooses to take you away from me.
