 | The old wise man looks into his eyes
And speaks like telepathy to him
As he sees it in flashes, like a dream
Then words come, and it turns
Into a nightmare it would seem
“I watch by the fire, the world go by
I see stones by the water's edge
Confining it to a narrowing-
Meandering stagnant river
And I see nature cowering
Nature's getting ugly now
Cyclones, hurricanes, tornados
We've hit the self destruct button
And the rest of us have to adapt
Around the humans aggression
And natural anomalies come and go
But this won’t go, will it?
So you don’t cut down trees
And you don’t work in a factory
Blind as bats, brought to your knees
You're brought stumbling into the steeple
Praying to some non-existent symbol
Like it’s ever going to help us
We're all as good as dead now
Because you were lazy, didn’t get of your ace
My intentions are pure, of course
There is no god, no true messiah
What we have, is right here and now
With a problem at hand, that can be solved
With a few sacrifices, instead of a goat, sheep or cow”
And the young man watches the sorcerer
Hanging on his every word
And learns the from mistakes once made
But no one else listens to a young little boy
And the world forgets and starts to fade
They turn to their steeples, and their gods
Sacrifice goats, sheep and cows
Just like the sorcerer had shown him before
And the world collapses, self destructs
If only they'd listened to what he foresaw.
