Love is a gift
Given from the heart
But it must be earned
From the very startI love you
Is what you want to hear
I don’t say it
And you fear

You think your love is lost
And your willing to get it back
At all cost

You say your sorry
For the things you’ve done
But loneliness is all you’ve won

I listen to you
And I sigh
Because I know it won’t be long
Before you lie

I can tolerate many things
We all have weaknesses
That we can see

But lying is something
I won’t tolerate
Being given to me

So if those three words
Is what you want to hear
Then let me tell you something dear

You can do your thing
On the side
Just don’t lie to me
Or try to hide
The things you say
You won’t do
Because we both know
It’s not true.
