I killed Cupid

Dear Weeping Willow tree,
Long hanging branches with lots of luscious green leaves, as beautiful as can be.
You hold a secret I yearn to find out,
I’m walking closer and closer to you, I can’t leave without.
I see someone’s feet hanging below,
I’m seeing a lot of blood streaming in a flow.
I gently pull the branches back, and to my surprise,
I can feel my eyes, let out agony cries.
A man hanging there by his neck, with arrows in his heart,
Then I felt my sanity slowly fall apart.
This man was pale and on his back had white wings,
He wore a white cloth tied up with strings.
Lying next to his lifeless body was his bow,
But it seems that his arrows became his foe.
It looks as if “Love” has turned its back on him,
So now he hangs here just the tree’s limb.
Carved on the tree in a heart, is his name,
And the look on his face is full of shame.
His name is Cupid,
And it’s obvious that the one who killed him,
trusted love, only to find out it was nothing but stupid.
By the looks of it, I’m sure he regrets where his arrow landed,
Now he no longer exists; left stranded.
He wanted so desperately to bring lots of love and joy,
But his plan backfired and all he did was destroy.
Beautiful Weeping Willow tree,
You will always hold the secret of thee,
And even though you may only be a tree, you have feelings and weep just like me,
Something that “man with white wings” will never see.
So for the one who killed dear Cupid,
I’m as guilty as can be.
