 | Have run afar, in fear
Of things, uncertainties hold;
Hiding myself, for years
From tomorrow's expectations, untold.
Todays were lost in past,
And there stood tomorrows.
Time sped through my life,
Leaving some dark blows.
Each day that slipped by,
Now stand in mocking memory.
Empty regrets, loud self-pity,
Comfort a mind, broken and dreary.
I am tired, my legs ache,
Don’t want to run anymore.
No place to hide, nowhere to go,
Is not like the days once before.
I stand in fearful courage,
And skeptic readiness,
For what tomorrow brings.
As the future opens the present,
Surprising realization dawns;
All failures, from fear springs.
