 | When my parent’s eyes met,
And they fell in love,
You saw it unfolding.
When I slipped from my mother’s womb,
And opened my eyes to the world,
Your eyes were there to behold me
When I was just a child,
And I fell down and cried,
It was your love which lifted me back up.
At times when I was hurting,
And thought that I should quite
It was Your Love that taught me to be tough.
Sometimes my spirit got discouraged,
My faulty flesh made me think I wasn’t worthy,
But your loving grace reminded me,
My best would be enough
All the times I cursed the mirror,
And for my sins thought I should die,
Then you, lifting my chin up
Said, “You’re forgiven, dry your eye”
When friends and family turned from me,
And no one seemed to care,
You opened your heart to me
Reminding me you cared
When all my hopes were shattered,
And my dreams began to die
You took me under your wing,
And showed me how to fly
