Can't Give What I don't Have

I’d give you my heart
If I had a heart to give
But Last year
My love took it captive
I loved her more than life
I would have given anything
But suddenly she turned around
And left my heart bleeding

She came back the next week
Pleading for forgiveness
I gave it; and now I regret it
Because now I walk around heartless

Now one year later you came along
Asking me to let go and let you in
Sad thing is I wish I could
But I don’t even know where to begin

It’s impossible to give something you don’t have
And it’s hard to love when you’re so afraid
I love you I really do
But I’m scared that I’ll be betrayed
