We never know where life will take us
One short ride and then it's through
I always knew love could mislead me
But I believed your words were true
Love is sublime and trust so fragile
Easily shattered by deceit
I watched how quickly truth departed
The awareness bittersweet

I saw some things that made me crazy
Things my inner voice was knowing
It told me I should walk away
My foolish pride kept me from going

All things come to pass they say
The time has come to end it here
I can no longer compromise
On those values I hold dear

Goodbye my friend
I know I'll never see you again
But the good times in all those years
Will ease the sorrow and the tears
