For the storm that was ahead
You knew I wasn’t made to stand up against
The armor you gave me is a lot more sensitive
The weapons you provided me with
Would only last for so long then leave me defenseless
That electrifying lightning, the pouring rain,
Those massive winds only left ruins of me
A thousand angels you had sent
To prevent this hurt covered in pain; to prevent this scar
And thousand times I discarded turning back
As I laid there beside myself
That road became cold and vague
No longer verdant it came to an end
Only stones that burned like ice
Were thrown at me, and almost buried me alive
A thousand angels you sent my way
Blowing away what was draining my faith
They reminded me of that amazing place
Filled with your love, peace and forgiveness
With tears in my eyes and feeling ashamed
They carried my dying soul, they carried me home
My heart, now healing in your hands
You took in, no questions asked
You wrapped me up inside your love
As I regain my strength your
Tending my wounds with your kisses
Cleansing, feeding my soul pure light with your hugs
Thank you Lord for letting me rest in your arms
This journey left a thousand scars, amongst them
I learned you are the only one who’ll always catch my fall
The only one with eternal, unconditional love
The only one I can trust.
