 | This is a girl everyone thinks they know,
A girl who can make anyone smile, and most of the time laugh.
A girl who is always there to cheer you up,
Always wanting to help out.
The girl everyone thinks they know.
No one knows how she sits alone,
How she cries at night
Staring out the window as the tears roll down her cheeks.
Wanting to be someone's someone,
Waiting for the guy she loves with all of her heart,
To even notice he is ripping hers apart.
She walks alone down the street,
Seeing the love on the faces of passing couples
And all she wants is to feel just a tiny bit of that love.
But wish as she does, it just never comes.
The story of a girl who everyone thinks they know.
She sits alone on her bed,
Staring at a blank wall
While silent tears fall down her face.
She asks herself if life is really worth all the pain she feels inside.
And as she picks up the blade
The tears fall faster down her face.
As she thinks back at her painful past,
Thinks about all her masks
Of all the people who think they know her.
He comes up in her mind
Blurring her eyes and tearing her heart,
She silently makes a nik with the knife.
The blood runs down her wrist and she screams out,
Tears falling on her hands.
The phone rings through her whimpers of pain,
One of the people who think they know her, is what she says.
She looks down at the knife,
Listening to the phone ring
She makes a quick swipe,
Tears run down her face, and blood runs down her arm.
Her last thought was of him,
How he ripped her heart in two.
Waiting for him, while he never came through.
And as she drifts away,
His voice is on the answering machine
Finally, saying those three little words.
He came and found her that way,
Her tears still wet on her face.
And as he cried, he finally knew...
This lonely girl,
No one knew.
