I called out to God
From under the burden I bore.
I reached into emptiness
Expecting much more.
Through the storm I heard
The still small voice was calling.
I expected it all to stop,
But the rain continued falling.
When I could no longer bear the strong storm winds,
God held out His hand.
“My child you’ve been through so much
And through it all I’ve helped you stand.”
When I was going to ask
How a loving God could let me bleed,
He stepped aside to show me
Another one in need.
At once I knew the answer
As I recognized the form.
I will use my experience
To guide others through the storm.
