Forgiveness

Forgiveness never comes easily
With years of regret
Confusing our emotion
And what we really want to say
There’s no way to rewind
And change things into make believe
All I can do is try
To make things better

I’m falling apart
Slowly breaking into a puzzle
Where the pieces never fit
Because of you

The guilt tears me
I feel more than anyone knows
I’m as selfish as the rest of the world
But I want to make the world better

I live in the past
But I’m living for the future
All I ever wanted
