HELL

I long to look behind the mirror of her eyes
To see the birthplace of her secret world
The world of silent fears and dreams unshared
Where the sun sleeps through the dawn
And the November sky misses the Autumn moon
Where scarlet painted words find no canvas
And the trees ache for a cool gust of wind
Where love falls on yesterdays
And tomorrow waits in vain
A world where she is the rainmaker
Where Mister Dream Come True
Walks out of the unlocked doors
Of my tattered soul
Where snake eyes roll all the way down Desperation Road
And every river draw is the three of clubs
Where the streets are filled with flickering lamplights and faded stars
A place of fog and mist and broken lies
With promises unmentioned
And songs unsung
Where hypnotized hearts and tantalized minds
Litter the frozen meadows of her memory
Where the desolate sparrow strains to sing his song
And the destitute shadows dance
Like the last fluttering leaf
On a dying tree
I would give anything to visit that paradise just one more time
For it belongs to her
And her alone
