Understanding our Breakup

Laying next to you, on your bed
Feeling warm and secure
Looking into your eyes, they said it all
Like no words have before
Kissing you sweetly,
With my hand caressing your face
That feeling of ecstasy
That will never be replaced
The way your eyes told me
How you felt inside
And how you wiped away my tears
When we said goodbye
I wept in your arms, and knew it was the end
Yet I’m still crying now
There’s no use to pretend
I know I’ll miss you, but had to let you go
I could of held on longer
Allowing, confusion to grow
In time we would have still slowly broke away
Confused and prolonged, causing much more pain.
