The Forgotten Camera

Just the two of us travelled in the back seat
The other two weren't that eager to ride
Leading up to that inaugural moment
In honesty you'd rarely entered my mind
For me, another hurdle had been cleared
Maybe a chance for some personal time
And I know we're not completely alone now
But I've waited too long to clam up and hide
It's important I take time with my progress
Not rush in and mess up this great chance
So basic questions is all I can ask you
Mind you that's just the start of my plans

I cannot believe my good fortune
Or for that my implausible luck
Being able to do in a day
What I thought would no doubt take me months
But you say you've forgotten your camera
It really didn't click at the time
That the moment this field trip was over
There's a better chance that you might be mine

Let me leave you with a lasting impression
As this might be the last time that we speak
When we get there you'll stick with the girls
But the journey's a memory I'll keep
Yet you've opted to stay in my presence
I've got more time to try and impress
As we wander through these peaceful surroundings
Time spent with you seems to ease any stress
All my jokes have been met with your smile
It's a smile that I just can't resist
To get to know you a little bit better
Is a chance that I just cannot miss?
