Pretty little roses

All the pretty roses
lined up two by two
Pink and red and yellow
I know them through and through
All the pretty roses
standing straight and tall
Looking how you want them
If you want them at all

All the pretty roses
hoping you'll notice them bloom
Craving your attention
Losing it so soon

All the pretty roses
hiding what's within
Maybe they hold something good
maybe there's something there to win

Every rose has their thorns.
It's what pricks and tricks us into their lies,
Becoming wrapped up in their little package,
just for them to abuse.
They look, talk, act as one.
With no individual goals,
just an illusion they construct to satisfy those around.
