AFRICA

In the distant land you can hear its beat
Over blazing sands underneath the scorching heat

Amongst the bushes and around the trees
Over worlds of history and timeless seasThere she lies in the sweetest air
So green with nature like locks of hair

She calls out to her villages, her people, they are free
They unite, they a family and they want her to see

She looks to the future, to the present, and the past
Hoping that her people would forever last

In her belly lies jungles and underneath her heavenly eyes
She watches her creatures lurk underneath the darkest of all skies

Lions roar as the dawn invades the night
As mother Africa warms her people with her great African light

You would find no evil in the midst of her hand
This is our home our African land

This is indeed a very emotional poem. Very descriptive and full of nostalgic flavours. It vividly captures the intricacies of the totality of the African experience in a very masterful style. Good job!

i often tell poeple, blackness means greatness. And to my understanding u have exhibited that with ur great poem about africa sweetness. As i read through its lines,it make me see the vision of a society in embryo called "The afro boys"

but my final word to u is this----" u have an element of poetic greatness"
keep it up
