You Roused Me

I never thought I would need you,
or anyone, for that matter
I was apathetic even in wanting
someone to care about
You came along and learned me
and then made me better
I didn't want to want you,
but I didn't want to get out

Slowly, I let myself realize
that I love you, I do
Finally, you trust me as
I trust you, please forever

Sometimes I doubt us, for no reason,
even when I know you're true
But I've never felt this good,
and I don't want to for anyone else, ever

I wonder, though not often,
if you would leave me for someone better
Your actions tell me otherwise,
but I always miss you when you're away

I cry out of foolishness because we are
something I've never known before
Holding me in your arms, I am whole and happy,
within me you'll stay
